The Reference Tables Access team owns the UI, MCP, APIs, and control plane that customers use to bring external data into Datadog. Reference Tables lets them use their own reference data to enrich and filter observability data without leaving the platform. The team also owns the table identity, metadata, permissions, quotas, validation, and lifecycle services behind these experiences. Beyond the current product, the team is developing a consistent tabular abstraction that product teams can use without needing to manage the details of the underlying storage systems. This abstraction supports use cases from log enrichment and security to emerging analytical workflows built on Datadog’s internal Data Lake (ADP Lakehouse). We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader to guide the team’s roadmap and develop these capabilities into a reliable platform. This role will shape how Datadog teams manage and build product experiences on top of tabular data. At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships that it builds, the creativity it brings to the table, and the collaboration of being together. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them. What You’ll Do: * Lead a team of engineers, ensuring effective project execution. * Partner with product managers and staff engineers to define and drive the team’s technical direction. * Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to shape the team’s roadmap and contribute to the broader organization’s technical direction. * Establish and uphold engineering best practices, ensuring consistency and quality. * Mentor and coach engineers, supporting their career growth and development. * Foster an inclusive and collaborative team culture. Who You Are: * Technically adept, with a strong foundation in large-scale distributed systems and/or customer-facing platform development. You can dive deep into technical details in code and designs when needed. * A problem solver at heart, eager to take on complex technical challenges with confidence and experience. * An engineering leader, skilled in prioritization, escalation, and clear communication, helping teams make progress through ambiguity. * Experienced with mission-critical systems and high-stakes operations, including supporting infrastructure that demands high reliability and rapid incident response through a 24x7 on-call rotation. Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.  Benefits and Growth:  * New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) * Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing * Intradepartmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking * An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds (Datadog employee resource groups) * Access to Inclusion Talks, our Internal panel discussions * Free, global mental health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+ * Competitive global benefits Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog. Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Datadog offers a wide range of best in class, comprehensive and inclusive employee benefits for this role including healthcare, dental, parental planning, and mental health benefits, a 401(k) plan and match, paid time off, fitness reimbursements, and a discounted employee stock purchase plan.
